My official name is Barbara, but my closest friends, family and co-workers call me Barbie. Who wouldn’t want to be her anyways? I grew up in the beautiful state of California, but have traveled the country as a military service member and wife. I have two beautiful adult children and an adorable granddaughter. I have worked for the last 30 years in the medical field to include serving in the U.S. Navy for 16 years as a Hospital Corpsman. (Woman if you ask me) I worked for an Internal Medicine Practice as a clinical supervisor, I've training Medical Assistants and managed Multi-Specialty physician practices. My most recent job was as a Medical Billing Manager for a Plastic Surgeon in the Washington DC area for over 10 years. I have lived in Beaufort for almost 3 years and have no plans to leave, it reminds me of home. I am excited to have joined this awesome team at LowCountry Therapy as their Insurance Coordinator and look forward to learning from each and every one of them.

Growing up in Beaufort, SC close to Lady's Island, I went to Beaufort High School. Go Eagles! Majoring in Biology for four years of an undergrad in Virginia, I then took Medical Training Courses in Texas before returning home to the Beautiful Carolinas. I have always loved to travel as much as I am able, meeting new people and exploring what each place has to offer! This has helped me to love patient care and to treat everyone like family. Most recently I was employed by All Children's Pediatrics with Dr. Simmons as the Referral Specialist for three exciting years before moving onto something different but equally exciting: our wonderful LowCountry Therapy! During my downtime, other than a healthy fascination with History and the Sciences, I play a wide range of video games, put together/painting models, and swim when weather permits.
